A Case of B Cell Chronic Lymphocytie Leukemia Involving Thyroid Gland

Abstract

|
This is a report of B cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia involving thyroid gland. This case was a 74 year-old-female whose chief complaints were general weakness and bulging mass on the anterior neck. Peripheral blood findings show moderate leukocytosis with absolute lymphocytosis, many smudged cell, mild anemia and thrombocytopenia. On the bone marrow section, the whole marrow spaces were completely replaced by leukemic cells and the same pictures are shown on the aspiration smears. The aspiration cytology of thyroid gland showed involvement of leukemic cells. The leukemic cells represent B-cell type on flow. Cytometric and immunohistochemical studies
